I'm Nicole

how YOU doin'?

You’d probably answer, “Fine, thanks” to the above question, because you’re a nice, good girl.

And that’s exactly the kind of surface-level bullshit I strive to get past. Why? Because:

no. 1: ‘Fine’ is probably a facade; a front; an acceptable response you use to hide your vulnerabilities (or to make others feel more ‘comfortable’); and

no. 2: ‘Fine’ is boring. ‘Fine’ is meh. We’re not really going for ‘fine’ in this one, beautiful life, are we? Honey, we’re going for gold!

I’m on a mission to help women like you feel damn good – in their bodies, in their minds, in their relationships and in their place in the world. (‘Fine’ can eat our shorts.)

Some Frivolous Facts About Me

  • I’m a Cape Town gal with a not-so-closet love for her city.

  • My first wedding (aged 27) was beautiful.

  • Divorce (aged 34) was brutal.

  • After 2 years of licking my sad Divorce Wound, I met and fell in love with Tom. We got married in 2015. I like to keep him on his toes by introducing him as “my current husband”.

  • Between us, we have a Beagle called Daisy and 5 non-furry children – his 3 to my 2.

  • I used to be an Interior Designer and I still have a compulsive habit of drawing floorplans and re-designing everyone’s house in my head.

  • In 2019, I started my 2-year journey of becoming a certified Life Coach – I’ve never felt so simultaneously nerdy and alive.

  • I spent my youth in ballet, modern, tap dance and piano-playing classes. Safe to say: I’m not sporty.

  • My other significant talent is that I can take any regular conversation and turn it inappropriate. Naughty humour is my jam.

  • I’m a self-proclaimed dolly-bird who loves all things girly and cosmetic. I confess, I mostly work my outfits around the colour of my nail polish.

  • I’m a surprising introvert. Surprising, because I have fabulous spurts of impressive vivaciousness. But then I really must recover in total solitude…. For weeks at a time 😉

  • It’s no surprise, then, that I love writing. There’s not much talking required to write. I really like that.

  • I’m a huge F.R.I.E.N.D.S fan. My girls are huge F.R.I.E.N.D.S. fans. We rattle off funny scenes like regular dinnertime conversation and I consider my motherly contribution to the world complete knowing I’ve helped transcend F.R.I.E.N.D.S into the next generation. (Could I be any prouder?)

  • I’m a manifesting junkie who believes everything comes down to energy. Because of this, feeling good is my daily goal.

My Bubbling
Purpose

(as if Feeling Damn Good wasn't enough of an incentive)

The added impetus to my ‘why’ are my daughters. The life I lead today helps mould the lives they’ll lead tomorrow. My actions – more than my words – will have the greatest impact on their mindset. And make no mistake: mindset is everything.

I want to show my girls what being an empowered woman looks like.

I want them to know that it’s possible to be a wise and wonderful mom – without being a martyr

I want them to understand how to be a kind and loving partner – without being a self-sacrificing sad-sack.

I want them to trust in their own wings, and follow their own hearts and live a life so big and so beautiful without small mindedness or society’s expectations on women limiting their full potential.

They don’t have to feel guilty for having dreams.

THEY GET TO FEEL DAMN GOOD!

I want them to know that living a meaningful, creative and abundant life is not only possible, it’s downright compulsory to do this Gift of Life any justice.

It’s what I dream of for my girls, and it’s what I dream of for YOU.

Meet Daisy

She's the most popular character in our home and she reminds us of Joey Tribbiani - here's why:

  • she doesn’t like to share her food
  • she’s the most loyal friend you’ll ever find
  • she’ll hop into bed with anyone who offers it
  • chasing birds is her favourite sport
  • she’s not the sharpest tool in the shed
  • but somehow, she makes stupidity really cute
